Green Flags in Sustainable Fashion

Green Flags in Sustainable Fashion

We always talk about red flags — but what about green ones? If you're trying to choose better merch, here’s what to look for.

GOTS or OEKO-TEX certification. These aren’t buzzwords — they’re proof. Certifications mean the fabric has met strict environmental and social criteria.

Transparent supply chains. If a brand tells you exactly where the garment was made, and by whom, that's a great sign. No vague “ethically made” claims.

Pre-order or print-on-demand model. Real sustainable brands don’t overproduce. They only make what’s been ordered.

Recycled or organic materials. These have a lower impact than conventional cotton or synthetic blends.

Local printing and fulfillment. Less transport = lower emissions. If your tees are being printed nearby, that’s a win for the planet.

Bonus: brands that encourage repair, resale, or long-term wear — not just consumption.
